    Personal loans secured by cd.

    Hi,

I have been researching a plan to fix up my credit report/score after discharge. I have been hearing about personal loans secured by a cd. I have been searching for some online banks that offer these and have only came across one so far. I was wondering if anyone else here knows of any online banks that offer this and of course, whether or not it reports to the bureaus.

You have the wrong responder here. Why now worry about more credit? Cash man or you cannot afford it. There are plenty of cards going your way if you wish to establish a rating pay them off EVERY month. I shall never use a credit card again. My opinion. ‘Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Why go the personal loan route, if your credit is that bad that you can't get a normal card, just get a few secured credit cards, they are more readily available and easier to get.

I have the cash. I don't need the loan. I just want to get a credit history of good payment being built up. My discharge isn't through yet but my scores are all around the 550 range. I have 1 secured card from BOA, which reports as secured. I had an Orchard Bank with a $0 balance but they decided to close my account when I filed Chapter 7. I will probably try to get another Orchard Bank card as well. I don't need credit at this point but I want to do damage control and build up a good history again.

I'm 25 and I kind of can relate to that. I make half of what I used to make. I'm terrified of losing my job everyday. Everyday I wonder if it is my last day there. My only plans now are save every last penny I can. I live like I am dirt poor just so I can put 60% of my income in the bank every month. I have had crohn's disease for 3 years now. It literally controls my whole life. I haven't been treated since I had it because of no health insurance. At my new job they won't insure me for another 10 months because of the pre-existing condition. I just need to survive that next damn 10 months and hopefully get something done about it.
