    Credit report cleanup...why bother?

Ok, so I'm a little frustrated:

Honda is reporting a balance that should have gone 0iib. And is refusing to fix it. They are reporting it as a chargeoff (wrote off just before filing BK..how convenient!)

My auto loan which was reaffirmed, is now reporting '0IIB. Was reporting correctly 2 months ago.

Macy's credit card that was cancelled in the Bk are reporting paid and current.

A WF Credit card that I don't recognize held jointly with some dude I never heard of.

Address listed on my personal section for a PO box in Cleveland (never been there, much less why I would want to open a PO box there...) Then getting the message 'I can't fix it, it is an address that is being reported by a credit." Which creditor I can't find out either.

Can I just go postal and shoot all 3 CRA's???

i'd be worried about identity theft a bit. also i'd immediately report inaccuracies to the agencies. there's some badness abounding in your reports

You've got some issues if you have another person's name mixed into your account. It could just be an error but you need to find out what is going on there first before you clean up the rest of your credit reports. Get copies of all three of your credit reports and tell them you suspect possible identity theft as there is a strange name and address being shown in your reports. They will send you your reports for free due to that and also put fraud alerts on your reports for 3 months. Don't fool around with this...

Well, that WF is a closed account...but it was opened in 96, last reported in 99.
With a $100K limit. (looking around...don't see anything worth 10% of 100K around here....)

I suspect that account is reported on my in error, and that po box address is tied to it.
100K is someone's business account reporting under their ss.

But what is the deal with Honda?? I am going to call them AGAIN and see what I can do.
Also, if a credit card was closed by creditors request, can I try and get that changed to be consumers request??

And these reports I already got were from annualcreditreports.com.

Anything else I want, I am going to have to pay for.

I hate to say it, and it may be that I am in the latter years of my life, but, WTFC’rs. About a credit report? I shall go cash only. This preoccupation of checking credit statistics is got me perplexed. What got us ALL into this situation, anyway????

It is only my opinion. I just hate credit cards as it is a subtle seduction that the plastic represents free stuff when in fact, it represents servitude. ‘Hub

That's a great way to look at it ACH. No more plastic!

We have discussed in the forum for quite some time that your credit can affect other things, like a new job or for new insurance for example......so.......it is wise to do something to make your credit look as good as it can be, whether or not you decide to never take on any debt ever again.

            Just my thoughts.

So...how do I get Honda to correct this?? They had done it once before on my EQ report, now I am back to Sq1. Why do these thing keep changing time and time again?? I don't get it.

I will call the CRA re: the address thing and the cc that isn't mine, and the reaffirmed vehicle reporting 0iib. These are the easier things to fix.
              But Honda....they're PITA's.

I had to send a copy of my credit matrix and my discharge to the credit bureau and that is how I got my things like that fixed.

Thanks! I can do that! I will call Honda tomorrow and see if I can't get this bugger fixed correctly.
