I have been regularly checking our credit reports and on ONLY my husband's Transunion credit report HSBC keeps reporting that he has a payment to them of $852 (our old mortgage payment), which he does not. We short sold our home in May 2007. They then went after him for the deficiency, which is why we ended up filing for BK in Dec 2007. First it was listed as a charge off/collections with a balance and payment. So I disputed online the balance and the payment by saying it was included in our bankruptcy. They took away the balance but continue to report it is having a payment and now the comments say PAYMENT after charge off/collections.
I understand the CO/collections statement since it did charge off before we filed and they had just begun to file a lawsuit for the difference, which was dropped due to the BK but how do I get them to stop saying we have this payment we don't have? And it is only on his Transunion report. Everything else is actually reporting correctly from our BK otherwise on all our credit reports.
What is my next step? A certified letter to Transunion with a copy of the discharge and the matrix blacking everything out but the HSBC listing?
