    What's HELOC?
Is our money safe in a checking account at WAMU or should we take it out? It's federally insured right? But I don't want any issues of not being able to access it for a time, either...

I got a $4,000 Providian Visa which then became WaMu, about 18 months after my BK discharge. I hardly ever used it so when I bought my condo and needed new living room furniture for it, I made a point of charging the entire purchase to the card. It was around $1,600 or thereabouts. The following month I paid it off completely from my savings account. After this WaMu went and raised my credit limit to $10,500!

I now charge a tank of gas every couple months just to keep it active. Some credit card companies don't like you to keep a zero balance at all times. Crap1 tried to charge me an annual fee due to "inactivity" and I closed the account instead.
BK 7 filed and discharged in 2004 after 30+ years of perfect credit. Life HAPPENS.
