HSBC reporting account as IIB when it was not

I had an HSBC card with zero balance that I did not include in my BK filing (since the balance was zero). Not long after I filed, HSBC closed the account and are now reporting it to the CRA's as IIB. I disputed it once and had thought that they had corrected it, however I noticed it is again reporting IIB. When I tried to do another online dispute TransUnion said it was previously validated and they consider the 2nd dispute as frivolous.

Question is, should I pursue this or does it really make any difference in the big picture? If I should pursue it, does anyone have a sample letter and should I dispute directly to HSBC or by mail to TransUnion (and possibly others)?

Just to clarify, I disputed it as "not included in bankruptcy" however HSBC supposedly verified it as being accurate. HSBC was not anywhere on my creditors matrix or petition.

Write to HSBC and ask them why they are reporting an account NOT included in bankruptcy as ONE included. Send the letter CMRRR.
No use arguing with the CRA - they are probably just too lazy to really investigate your dispute.

Just a question about the "IIB" terminology, is that something that will appear on your CR? I see it posted and haven't pulled my report since the discharge. Wanted to know what that meant. Thanks.

I dont think the credit report actually says "IIB", it is just one of many (WAY too many in my opinion) acronyms used on this and other forums. IIB = Included In Bankruptcy.

LOL. I get it. Just thought I might be behind on my CR terminology...not the case. Thanks!
