    Credit monitoring for couples??

Will any of the sites allow us to sign up under the same account for credit monitoring? Went to truecredit, and there didnt' seem to be such an option, and I can't stand the idea of paying 30 bucks a month to monitor us under 2 separate accounts.

Arkie, I searched online for quite a while and I can't find any offers that reduce the price of credit monitoring for a married couple. Guess myFICO and the others don't see any advantage to offering that....big surprise, eh? Hope another member here is a better online sleuth...I'd like to sign up for a bargain married price myself when our Ch 13 is closer to being over.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I dont see credit bureaus ever doing a 'couples' report. The big reasons that come to mind are:

        1) Many couples maintain sole and separate finances. The bureaus cant ever combine or link our finances, unless we decide to have some type of joint debt. They cant give me my husband's credit info, and they cant give him mine. Bureau reports are individual, just like your Social Security benefits statements.

        2) I think the whole couple concept opens a pandora's box. Who defines what it a 'married couple'...or what is a 'couple' for that matter. Let's say you are in a same-sex relationship, and you cannot legally marry. Legally you are not a 'married couple' and therefore not eligible for many benefits that man-woman married people receive.

I can see alot of confusion coming from this... I like the idea since I too pay $30 a month for TrueCredit, but I cant see it happening. Just my humble opinion.

It's all SS # based. SS #s don't get married, people do.

I would be happy if they simply made it so if you monitored 2 peoples credit under one password there would be a discount for the second. I understand that they are seprate but if they are asking all the same questions it wouldn't matter if you know the answers you could get into their account the same as you could alone. Just cheaper. Are there any cheaper ones out there I was going to start one of those programs after our 341. I want the credit score available at least once a month. Thanks

That is correct, but it was the idea of a "couple's" report that was raised. Since couples arent issued a new "joint" SS# once they get married, there is no way to have a couple's credit report.
