Change Your Name and Your Credit Is Perfect

I had a friend who had a BK, he got pissed at his family and changed his First and Last Name. then he sent in the court order, a new drivers lic and a new SS card to all the credit companies and asked them to remove his original name. They did and at the same time, he had a car payment, 2 cards and a small loan which all changed his name too.

Presto in a matter of 30 days, his entire life disappeared. his only credit was the current things he held. His score shot up to a 755 FICO and he was able to do just about anything he wanted.

To validate this, i did the same and the exact same thing happened. So, the sure way to fix your report is to carry some credit forward that is good, and change your name.

There is always a paper trail. So your new name will always be associated with the old name.

Why would he need the credit reporting companies to remove his original name when he now has a new SS number? Wouldn't he just ditch the "old guy" and move on with the "new guy"?

Wouldn't the credit reporting companies simply add his new name as an alternate name? I've seen all sorts of versions of my name on my CR.

This just sounds shady. And I'm betting that as soon as someone takes the bait and says "how??" that we will get a laundry list of information about this 'great company' who does it for you.

I dunno I just think that if it was that easy... and the GUBBMENT was that slow, we'd all be changing our names and starting a new life. Right?

It's almost like saying 'hey - go get a total extreme makeover face lift and your credit problems will be over! they won't even know it's you!'

This seems like an very extreme way to avoid two years of credit repair - kind of like killing an ant with an elephant gun.

I don't need new credit THAT badly!

And working this same scheme instead of filing to avoid paying debts is illegal - see http://www.************************/...u-out-of-debt/

Changing your name is not an easy process and when the name change is publiclly announced (they are published in newspapers as public information, divorces, marriages, BK's, etc.), there are people and companies that watch for that information so you never can really run and hide unless you are under government protection. There is a wide open paper trail. Changing your SS number is not easy either or else there would be long lines at the SS offices everywhere. Plus there are many "formerly known as" or "a/k/a's" that turn with with the new name in records one may not see. This entire thing is sorta beyond and brought up scam thoughts to me as I read through it.

in California you can change your name to whatever you want at anytime with minimal money and little paperwork. (less than 500.00 and a few forms)...

BUT getting a new Social Security number requires PROOF of fraud under your name that is not able to be rixed or some other extreme circumstance like Witness Protection!

Much easier to repair and improve the good ole fashioned way!
