You'll get all kinds of offers, just be weary of the finance rate. Check out mycccu.com (credit unions have great rates) and this company is bk friendly.

With this BAD economy, every dealer wants to sell any car any price any customer any rate any credit..

They want to have a job for their living! .. or they get fired!

Your BK is public record so guess who goes to the courthouse and gets your information and address to solicit you for auto loans. They really come in heavily after a discharge. They must sit like vultures each week waiting for the new discharges to post so they can get the advertisements out. They will die down after about a year. We recycle and toss them in the paper recycling bin with name/address cut out.

Interesting. I haven't had offers come in at all. I think I even got ONE credit card offer since Nov. 2007.

We never got any of these offers because we opted out all three CRA's and it stopped them. I find them irrtating and just trying to suck you back in. we never even got one credit card pre approval. our motto is if we can save for it then we don't need it. although we did just get a brand new car we put half down and figure our last car lasted from 1994 to 2008 we just handed it over to my daughter to drive so this car will do the same we only financed it for 3 yrs that way we will never be upsidedown. I have learned so much thru this ordeal that I hope to never be in the same boat.

Yeah, it's quite ironic. We always would get stuff from the local dealerships even before we filed, but today was the first time we got a "personalized" post-filing one. It came from a local dealership and said "Come talk to XXX and YYY, we've filed before, we understand the hardships you are/will go through".

We both just got new cars early last year, so we'll have no need to consider it anytime soon, and if we did, I'd just go out and buy a car that I can pay cash for, and when it dies, rinse and repeat.

We spent so much time trying to keep up with the Joneses that we forgot the important things. The cars we drive and the things we own are insignificant. They are merely modes of transportation, and as long as they are mechanically sound, who cares what they look like.
