How long should it take before I can lease or buy a car and the bankruptcy not be a d

Do i have to wait 10 years . Will every rental company deny me until then. Do people find after a year or 2 they don't look at that so much any more.

Most Ch 7 filers with good credit records after filing start getting decent offers 1-2 years post-filing. Some of our members have gotten great deals on new and used car purchases just months out of Ch 7. No way will it be 10 years if you make payments on time and get your financial act together consistently after you file.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

financed with Ford Motor credit 2 months out of BK at 0.9% for 54 months (with a large downpayment coupled with a rebate totaled >25%down).....then bought another vehichle approx. 9 months later through capital one blank check with no downpayment at around 11% for 72 months.. Refinanced the capital one loan a year later through Christian Community at 6.75% for 60 months. It was all hard work and a lot of talking. I do have a good income and steady long term employment, which helped, but it CAN be done. It does not take 10 years! There is definitely hope!
