    Third Party Amex Issuers

Today at work I was surfing around whogavemecredit.com and saw some people post-bk (especially recent post-bk) who had been approved for the USAA american express card. I did some research and found that this card is not issued by amex, but has the benefits of an amex.

I did some more researching and found one of my local banks amtrust (amtrust.com) offers an amex issued by FIA credit services. I'm wondering if anyone has ever been approved for one of these types of amex cards?

    Thanks

Im interested in knowing this as well, as BOA has a amex card as well. I asked if amex was the approver and they informed that it was their credit dept that approves for this, I have been out of BK for a while and have been using lexington law to correct my credit reports and on TU i now have a 653 with only minimal deletions, I have about 10deletions with EQ so im sure my score is much higher with them although I havent checked, I was just looking for some info.

      Amex & Boa

I hear that BOA and Amex are sticklers for denying past bankruptcy filers.

I hear that BOA will consider if the bankruptcy has been discharged for 5+ years. AMEX, I'm not sure.

I say give it a try and let us know what happens. I myself applied for the Bank of America Amex card last year and I was turned down 'flat'. I'm not going to try Amex until I get my scores in the 700's and we shall see what they say.
