    Bumping Inquiries

I am not even sure if I am posting this in the right spot! I keep seeing everyone saying to "bump" the inquiry. But I am not sure how you do this???

I am the type that you will need to explain this to me step by step and hold my hand so I don't mess it up!

Before our discharge we were able to purchase a new car BUT we ended up with over 20 inquiries on our reports and it really dropped my score. So now I want to figure out how to get these off of there!

I saw one post that someone was talking about how they kept pulling their own report to "drop" the other ones off because it only shows so many inquiries????

So I need to get going on these and get them all off. Can someone please walk me through this!!!!!!

In two years they go away, there isn't really anything you can do about them...BTW, multiple inquiries for something like an auto loan or mortgage usually count as one inquiry if done in a short period of time...

that's what they say, however, my second and third inquires (3 days apart) for my mortgage each dropped my scores EXACTLY 5 points....I check my scores every day.

As far as "bumping"...I don't think that works. I checked my scores on all three last year over 200 times through true credit and it didn't bump anything.

LOL, that's incredible. I noticed you mentioned in another post that TrueCredit has made their website a lot better. When I used it in the past, it was a lot different. What service are you signed up with TrueCredit to be able to pull a new report daily without being charged daily? I'm going to have to look into this.

Do yourself a favor. Check everything I say with a bankruptcy attorney. Most attorneys will even provide a free initial consultation. In fact, it's your life, so check everything anyone says (including your attorney) for yourself!

Bumping has worked for me with True Credit. It just doesn't work with Experian, but I had myself down to zero inq on TU and 3 on EQ...it took quite awhile to get them bumped though because it also has to bump off the soft inquirys that you are doing.

be careful with Transunion. What they have started doing is creating a "B" file. So when you max our the kilobytes on your "A" file they create a second one. So it appears it's zero when you pull it, but when a creditor pulls it they get both files combined and see all the inquiries. If you order your paper file from transunion, you will get both of them and you will see the inquiries on one of them.

In fact, last year, my inquiries resulted in a A,B, and C file. I just got off the phone witht them today about it. They were able to merge b and c, but not able to merge A and B. so when I pull my file from True credit, I only get the A file and my score is never accurate.

Hope I made sense. Here is the number for them if you have questions. If you do have two files and want them merged you have to ask for the "Special Handling/File Maintenance Dept."
