I've had equally as much luck with Equifax and TransUnion by disputing my bk. Experian won't budge though.

I asked the same thing previously and found out that what some people do is try to beat the system by falsely disputing the BK listed on their CRAs (the Court filing listing itself) together with the creditor BK listings as "not mine, wrong date" etc.

How did you do it? I have disputed wrong date, wrong file number, not mine. Nothing works, as it is so easy to verify for them.

Details on how you did it, please!

After we were discharged, our BK was listed twice under the public info section on all three credit reports. One with a filing date of 1/02 and the other with the correct date of 4/02. We disputed it with similar verbiage as you indicate. All they did, and quickly, was update the information to being correct and removed the duplicate posting. If you keep disputing it, they will tell you the information has been verified as correct and will send out "frivilous" letters and tell you to contact the reporting entity directly. While some may be able to beat the system by continually flooding the CRAs with disputes, there is no guarantee it can be done and those that do manage to get it off, the numbers are very low. Also, items can disappear and then reappear on CRAs so if removed, there is no guarantee it will not be there several months later, especially public record/court information and if you can't get the creditors off your report listing you as being in BK, what's the use? You've got creditors reporting you as filing BK with no BK listed under the public records section. You can be sure that would raise all sorts of red flags.

hubby's scores are high...700's now despite his other accts saying IIB and for transunion his other accts were successfully disputed off. Transunion is clean....been that way for many many months...

It may be rare, but it is possible. Didn't work for mine, however I am still having anywhere from 1 - 3 accts deleted every month. I am consistent consistent consistent. They have throw the frivilous thning at me, but I keep disputing. Finally last month a whole batch went through. My credit reports have from many many pages to only a few.

There is no reason for anyone to get discouraged. keep trying.

Be very Careful I have been working on my spouse's Transunion and today they deleted everything but two accounts and said that he does not have enough to compute a score. before he had a 667 now nothing and I am clueless how this happened all i did was ask them to investigate one item and poof everything but two disappeared.

Something hit a nerve? No, are you? But I am a paralegal and have years of working with some fantastic lawyers and I also have almost five years of BK 13 experience and from that dealing with the CRAs for several years as to clean up. What can you offer? I also have lots of experience with HR, accounting and taxes so if I see an issue that can get someone in trouble, I will state it. There are tons of people on here who have thousands of postings.

Isn't this a forum for experiences, thoughts and advice? That's what I see everyone else doing - posting their thoughts, experiences and advice. Sorry you don't see to agree.

Someone who works for an "hole?" Or a group of them? My boss is far from that...anyway, what side of the bed did you get out of this a.m. and what is it that set you so off? All I posted were facts as to the improbability of getting BK off your CRAs and the way someone trys to go about doing it and you fly off the handle. Apparently truth/facts bother you but, hey, if you got it off you records, more power to you; but don't raise the hopes of the majority of folks out there who think it will work for them because the majority of the time, it won't. But, seriously, that is great for you; now if you are so angry at lawyers, perhaps you should start another thread to gripe about them - they aren't all bad, believe me! And the domestic relations ones deserve trophies! And yes, I have learned a lot from them but also went to school for my degree (paralegal) for 4 years so I've been exposed to a lot of legal stuff over the years, done my share of research and it has come in really handy at times. It's helped me keep a good job thank goodness!

Ok, so this is still bothering me (not in a bad way, just one of those nagging things...) I called Equifax today and inquired about how a BK is investigated. I was told that it is done the same way as any creditor and depending on the court, it is done electronically. Then just for kicks I went onto the website and disputed mine. This is the response the system gave back to me, which explains the process...and it does state they send it to the courthouse and wait for a response. Here it is.....and I'll let you know how my little experiment goes....

                          Your Confirmation Number: 8029XXXXX
                          Success
Your online investigation request will be forwarded to the creditor, courthouse and/or agency that reported the disputed item(s) in your credit report.

Equifax verifies all credit account, public record and collection account information with original source when you initiate an investigation. This verification process can take as long as 30 days from the date the investigation was started. Investigation on your FACT Act free disclosure may take up to 45 days.

If you chose to have the result of the investigation mailed to your street address on your credit report, we will mail you the results when the investigation is complete.

If you chose to receive the result of you investigation online, we will notify you via email when the investigation is complete.

When you return to our web site to retrieve the results of your investigation, you must provide us with the following information. Please retain this information in a secured place.

                          -Your Confirmation Number
                          -Your Email Address
-Your last 4-digits of your Social Security Number

Yes - for me and all the other hard working women or men who go to school (got my degree) while working to support their family and who work hard during a Chapter 13 after their husband or wife lost a job, 70% of their income and cannot recover. Seems to be lots of us on here and in this economy there will be lots more. Anyway, there is no need to continue to berate me for no reason and for your insecurities. Please post something meaningful and purposeful on here that we can all relate to. Thank you.
