    got lucky

Right after I filed, I got a preapproved offer in the mail. For some reason I hung on to it and one day about a week after my discharge, I found it in my desk. So just for the heck of it, I went online and put in my acceptance number, waited the 60 seconds and up popped the message "congratulations, you have been approved". So I wait and a week or so later, the card shows up in my mailbox. Yesterday I called and activated it. Still not believing this, I went to work today and swiped it through my cc machine for .01 cents and it went through! Of course I voided it right away. Don't want a bill for a penny. The credit limit isn't huge, but will come in handy just in case I need it and I figured it would help me rebuild my credit. No annual fee and 9.9%, it was through Household Bank. Guess I'll have to wait and see if they catch this.

A year or so post bk filing, HSBC sent me a preapproved offer. I accepted and got a $2K limit with no annual fee. The interest rate is 16%. I put about $100/month on it an pay in full every month.

HSBC is more bk friendly that most places. I have an orchard card through them. However, I do have an annual fee and a 14.9% apr.

I think you should be able to keep it. They might raise your apr once they realize you have a bk. Just keep an eye on those bills and don't spend too close to the limit just in case.
