    Juniper CC

    Question,

I applied for the Sea Miles cc through Juniper, got a response they would let me know is that an automatic denial? Was trying to follow what I'm reading about re-establishing credit? Did I blow it?

My credit scores from transuion are as follows

    TU - 593
    EX - 547
    EQ - 581

Of course I pulled my FICO and could only get TU and it shows a FICO of 529 Why is that?
Any info you give me can help. If I don't get the card I won't be too crushed.

    Thanks

Juniper wanted to verify employment and address on both me and hubby. I got the standard response of you will hear something by mail but I called in and said they needed further info. You should call in and check!!!

Didn't get the Juniper cc, was also declined with wamu, sea miles, cccu, and navy fcu. I managed to get cap1 and hbsc both for small amounts. Palteco emailed and said I would receive an email from a loan officer which is probably another denial but I'll keep the faith for now. My fico scores are really low. I pulled them all last week because I needed to know how much lower they were compared to cr scoring the results was shocking

        TU 504 - fako - 591
        EQ 505 - fako - 581
        EX: 529 - fako - 547

Is there anything other than disputing and time that can possibly help me? I only got the cc since I needed to re-establish credit. I have nothing since I gave up my car in bk and bout a hooptie to get around. I'm listening to any suggestions as I see so many have way better scores than me would like to know what they did and how I can get higher scores.

Sara - have you pulled all 3 credit reports and ensured that everything listed is accurate? Any item you included in bk should read "Included in Bankruptcy" and show a $0 balance. NO chargeoffs, no current balances, only on any item that you have reaffirmed and kept, like your mortgage loans and car loans (if any).

Once you do all of this, I would think you would be closer to 600. Time will help considerably, and you must stay current on everything - as I am sure you are.

You got the Cap One and the HSBC and that's a start. And as Boscoe suggests, check your CR's and make sure everything is accurate. And yes, time will help.

              Sara,

I am looking into closing my first premier bank (for obvious reasons) and getting an HSBC card. Did you get a card through HSBC or was it Orchard?

              Thanks,
              Adam

Thanks Boscoe, I'm staying on top of it. Experian and TU are really hard to reach in person and disputing online is getting me nowhere. It can be depressing but I won't give up, I'll keep FIGHTING TIL I GET THE RESULTS I DESERVE!!! I didn't go through this bankruptcy only to have cra's report the information wrong. Thanks for the postive response. It's overwhelming at times all the stuff you have to do to get everything corrected. I think it should be included with all the bk paperwork somehow to make sure they get it right. I'm ok just venting thanks again

                  Hi Jetset,
I actually went to the hsbc site to get the card. I know they are affliated with orchard but since orchard was iib i decided to steer clear of them directly. I only got a $300 limit but hey it's better than nothing.
                  Hope this helps

sara, what are they not reporting correctly? Everything you included in the bk should be reporting that way....worse case you can send them a copy of your filed bk papers, forms D and F. But before you do that, what kind of problems have you been having? I simply disputed online, saying this acct is included in bk and balance should be zero. So far, so good.

Only time and patience will mend your credit. There is no quick legal fix in repairing your credit regardless of what others say.

                        Boscoe,

The main error is my mortgage is still showing open and late since May. I included the house in the bk and equifax finally reported it as included which helped my equifax fico jump from 504 to 541 in 6 days. They are also reporting a co that was not a co but included in bk. Hopefully tu and experian will correct. I've disputed online so much that I now get a message that says the info has been investigated and is correct. I have letter ready to mail to both tomorrow and copies of my D & F as well as a copy of my discharge papers. I know there are no quick fixes as the next guy responded, but I also know that persistence will pay off in the end. It's depressing at times but I'll get through this just like I got through the bk. Thanks for all the positive responses.

Keep at it sara. Bottom line is the credit reporting agencies are WRONG WRONG WRONG if they are showing a charge off when you included it in your BK. Just be sure (as I know you are) that it was not charged off BEFORE you filed. They are not required to change that.

You can always try to call them to, and speak to someone to plead your case.....

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

tradewiz,,, how are your scores so high so soon after your discharge?

It says 650+ on all 3 cra's, and you were only discharged 18 months ago.....

Did you have any past dues when you filed? Anything else you can share? I would be thrilled to have your scores 18 months from now!

Yes I had 2 repo's, and 150+ days late on all credit cards going into my bankruptcy and way over 100K in unsecured debt.

Well I took the advice from the good folks here to challenge my credit. I still have the bankruptcy reporting on all CRA's. But, I was able to get everything status IIB with 0 balances. I'm just now cleaning up the last bit of the incorrect tradelines.

When I started out I hired Lexington Law Firm for six months. They managed to clean up about 1/3 of all my negative items. After that I took over and have been disputing with the CRA'sa and original creditors.

My best advice is know your rights, have a consistent plan in place, and follow through with that plan.
