Time to get rid of Hooter's Card with $72 Annual Fee?

I received my Hooter's Card last November...w/$72 annual fee & a whopping 29.9% rate....I have about $500 on the card with a limit of $1,200.

Afterwards, I received a HSBC with 11.9% and no annual w/limit of $3k....I have $500 on it...

My debts are not a problem, but I was thinking of paying off the Hooters and dropping it because I don't want to pay the annual fee.

Has anyone with the annual called them & asked them to drop it?
Would this have any bearing on my present upswing in my credit?

    Thoughts?

They will not cancel your card if you have a balance. Also, they will not budge on the fee. they will send you a letter saying they do not negotiate fees or interest rates. I tried last week. I paid off the card and willl cancel soon regardess of the effect on my credit. I am not going to pay the fee again the year. I was disappointed they wouldn't budge. Juniper however dropped my annual fee completely and lowered my interest rate with no problem and increased my limit!!!

Yeah, that's what I figured. I, personally don't think it could hurt my credit score (which I have no idea what it is anyhow...)

I'm going to lock it up, pay it off and cancel it.

I just got a Juniper thing in the mail? Are they good? No annual & 11.9 %
