    SOL removals? Blanket request??

HI..when I filed for bankruptcy my attorney told me to stop paying all credit cards. I did. But took another year before filing. Then close to another year in a 13. It's now over 2 years, 2 months post 7 discharge. I've looked at my credit report and the last day of activity for all my accounts is 7/2005.
The SOL for MD is 3 years.

So does this mean next July I can dispute all the accounts has out of the SOL and get them removed from my credit report.
On the credit report it states it will continue to report until 2014???

Any account that you filed bankruptcy on the SOL does not apply....... the information will stay on your account for 7-10 years(can't remember which)....

If you had NOT filed bankrutpcy, then at the end of 3 years you could have asked that those accounts be removed as the SOL had passed and they were no longer collectable.

But also, if you had not filed bankruptcy, these accounts would have already filed and garnished wages..... the don't let those SOL run out without some effort on their part....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

The nice thing here is that negative information (except judgements and bankruptcy) falls of your credit report after 7 years. That seven years is seven years from the last account activity. So while your bankruptcy will be there until 10 years after your filing date. Those accounts should fall off your report 7 years from the last time you paid them.

However, I don't know how to dispute this until it has been seven years from the last delinquency.

Now I'm still learning this credit repair stuff so hopefully if I'm wrong someone will come along and correct me.

I filed Bankruptcy before I received any Wage Assignment or Garnishments?

If my case is discharged and closed in the next 3 months and I never received any wage assignments or garnishments for all those credit cards and loans that I listed on my petition, once the debts are discharged, do I ever have to worry about any of this again if I never intend to use a credit card ever? I have a debit card Visa, but nothing else.

You may someday be in a position where you want credit to buy a car or credit to buy a house. So it doesn't hurt any to make sure that your credit report is accurate. Additionally some companies pull credit to determine if you can rent and some jobs pull credit as part of the applicant screening process. Let's give all those entities the best picture we can.

If you don't ever want another credit card again. Great. But it is still probably worth your time to make sure what is on your credit report is accurate.
