Okay so Orchard drafted the minimum $200 from our checking...

    This is our new beginning...

I applied w/ Orchard, Target, Hooters, and CCCU last week. So far Orchard has drafted the $200 and has called us TWICE and left ph. msg's to call them back. Funny enough, they seem to call when I step out of the house, so I am left hanging. I am assuming we've been approved for the secured card because they took our $. Is this correct?

Target is still pending and the other 2 I have no idea. Guess I'll call on Mon. Of course when I finally have the time to call today, no one is in. Oh well. No rush.

Also, the only card I put in my name was Hooter's. (funny replies on the Hooter's thread on how wives don't want the card in THEIR name...true, but I'd rather have it in my name and then tucked away (heck--maybe in the bra) for those online purchases!) ANYWAY...since 3 of the cards are in my husband's name, do you think they'll be willing to list me as an authorized user and report on my credit if I filed a CH7 back in 6/2000? My scores were not as high as my husband's because I unfortunately did not rebuild my credit the first 5 yrs. I didn't want to open cards w/ high interest and fees.

    Thanks!

husbands ch 7 (his name only) discharged 2/14/07
    my ch 7 discharged 6/00

my score was in the high 500's
husbands score a few mos. ago was 618 (mid score)

*planning on reopening the truecredit account in a few mos. to check scores, if the free annual credit report isn't available then. (I go through the Walmart link and get it for $11/mo!)

      You got the Orchard card

Target is a real B, there are people with 800 scores that can't get a target card. I now try to avoid store cards myself.

Hooters is great for rebuilding, but I wouldn't expect to get it the first time around. As far as the 'Hooters' name is concerned, it reports as merrick bank on your credit reports. And the card comes with an activation sticker that completely covers up the word Hooters. I just left the sticker on the card.

      Good luck.

And yes you can be an authorized user. Now is the time to do that since later this year fico score calculations are going to stop recognizing authorized users. At least for a couple months you could get a score boost and hopefully get some better accounts before the AU fico changes take place.

Yeah, they got your $....why did you go for a card you had to lay out that kind of cash on?

Just curious....I got the Hooters card & had to pay $70 for the annual...but then I got the HSBC & if was -0-.....I also did get a Target but haven't used it as I put it with the HSBC & locked them both up.

Orchard was my first when I got my CH13 finished, but it was a regular card. No deposit.

They called and called and I kept missing them also.

When they finally got me, they were trying to sell me payment insurance-- they'll pay the monthly bill if I get sick or disabled.

I won't ever run it up to anything that will reqire that I pay them a drop of interest, and I'm going to give them "insurance" money? Not.
