    Part time job

Not sure if anyone can answer this. I'm planning on getting a 15hr/week part time job at Kohl's primarly for health insurance. I looked over their application and it doesn't ask anywhere on it if you have filed for BK before. It does state that your employment history will be checked, does that mean they pull up a Credit Report?
    Thanks.

      Hi,

Yes Kohls will probably do whats called a consumer report.............which consists of checking your criminal background, employment referrences and credit report. A lot of retailers within the likes of Target, BestBuy, etc are running "consumer reports" on applicants.

      Good Luck!

That sucks, this means I won't get the job... I guess it makes sence for retailers not to hire anyone with bk on their credit report since the job may require you to handle money.
I guess I'll try someone else, Kohl's doesn't require you to keep any certain amount of hours to keep health insurance. That's why I wanted to work there. I'm not ready to go back to working in industry full time just yet!!!

Employers aren't supposed to discrimate against those who have a BK on thier credit report. But the actuality of them not doing so in another story! Many employers treat a BK similiar to having a felony record!

Edny, give'em all a try. Don't worry about Credit Reports. You may still get the job, none of us knows for sure what they pull. A BK does not make you dishonest. My darned Insurance Co. (AIG) raised my rates after my BK even though they had once lowered them because I refused their to take a check from them and fixed my Truck myself. I only believe Insurance is for catastrophies and have never abused the system.

Supposedly I'm at risk of putting my beloved GMC in a canal and calling it stolen. I BK'd therefore I am trailer trash and have the integrity of a cucumber!!!!!

Your rates in So. Florida skyrocket when you make a claim.

I know, I feel like trailer trash too.
I'm waiting for my insurance rates to go up as well, will they stay up for 7 to 10 years or as long as the BK is on the credit report?
I'm going to try getting a part time job in my field since most of the time a chemist is not required to spend money other than buying lab supplies. I did want to stay home with my little one for a while longer though. I do need to get insurance since my husbands job doesn't provide it.
By the way you allllllllllll.......... We got our discharge papers in the mail today!
