I thought I was going to reaffirm our "nice" vehicle (2004 Chevy Classic) but as of late so many things have started to go wrong with it (a/c is on the fritz, brakes need replaced, cd player is broken, etc.) that I'm afraid it will not last for the next 2 1/2 years that we owe on it. So, I am considering not reaffirming but still paying on it until we can get approved for another car and then surrendering it. What do you all know/think about this? I've seen someone on here (cindylynn?) that had purchased a brand new car 2 months after discharge with a 0.9% APR! I thought that sounded awesome, but wondered how to do this. Our credit pre-filing STINKS (450 and 477 FICOs). I NEED a reliable vehicle for work (I drive 60 miles to/from work total each day). I can't afford to lose the one I have but can't really afford to reaffirm and then it dies before the loan is up because we can't afford the repairs either. Any ideas for us??? I think I will talk with our attorney on Monday and then talk with car dealerships about b/k friendly lenders they use. But I'm curious about your experiences~ Thanks!
