    5k - 52 days after discharge

    Hi Everyone.

I love this forum. Well, As my title says 52 days (02/27/07 ch 7) after my discharge I got a 5000 dollar unsecured cc from capital one at 14.5%. When I received the offer in the mail about a week ago it said anywhere from 1000 to 5000 and I was a bit skepticle. I figured they would either turn me down or somehow come up with a different offer (300-400) limit. I received the card today and I had to do a double take on the credit limit. I actually am nervous seeing that high a limit. I have learned my lesson and would never get into trouble again...but, its amazing how quickly cc companies are willing to give credit. On my way to rebuilding my credit....and proceeding with caution!!

Lucky You ! Being a Gambler I would be scared with THAT amount of credit so quickly ! I'm starting off with a Secured CC from Platinum. I sent in $300 !

Congrats! Be careful tho... Because capital one does not report credit limits, if you rack it up it can show high utilization on your credit reports. Best to pay it in full until you get another line of credit or two that report limits, then the utilization won't be a concern anymore.

FOMO nailed it on the head. It's a good card to have as long as you pay it off every month.
