In the year since you've been discharged, have you checked on your Credit Reports?? Done any work on cleaning them up and getting them reporting correctly??
If not, that's where I'd suggest you start. You can go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com
and get free copies of all 3 Credit Reports.
That site is sponsored by TransUnion. If you think you might use True Credit's Credit Monitoring Service to clean up your Credit Reports, be sure and remember your User ID and password. True Credit uses the same info as TransUnion.
At least if you look at your Credit Reports and know what's there, there will be no surprises when you chat with prospective lenders about a loan.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

Have you considered www.prosper.com
Don't know your circumstances, but it's one alternative to try before you try mainstream lenders.
