True credit vs Real FICO scores

If anyone wants an example of how different TC scored are compared to real FICO here you go:

My TC scores as of today: 675(TU), 640(EX), 690(EQ)

My Real FICO as of today: 649(TU), 678(EX), 647(EQ)

    FICO is a rip off
    My credit scores:
Before Filing: Tr 496, Ex 496, Eq 507

    Today: Tr 618 (+122), Ex 601 (+105), Eq 623 (+116)

That's not the same FICO that a creditor pulls, so you just wasted $50.00.

      Congrats!

This is why I cancelled my subscription to TrueCredit.

I have a copy of my report in hand to use as reference to dispute, and every time you dispute and get something changed or removed the CRA sends you a new copy of your report for free. I figured why keep paying when I can get them for free.

Plus Tinroofrusted made a very good poing in another thread about paying for your own information. Geeze, it's your information and you have to pay to get it.

As long as I keep getting new reports when I dispute, I'll get to see what's on there without paying the monthly fee. As far as the scores go, what good are they if they are not the same scores Lending Institutions get when they look at it?

Did you actually receive new updated reports after you disputed? I did this with TU last year. There was an account that I had paid in full and closed and was listed as open and not paid. I disputed it but never received an updated report. It took till now, a year later that I was able to get my free reports again that I saw it was removed.

They are expensive, yes... but you can't consider yourself 'ripped off' if you agree to pay a premium price for the closest to accurate scores that a consumer can obtain...

Your FICO scores, if obtained from myfico.com, *are* your real FICO scores.

That being said, bear in mind that when you receive your FICO scores, they are generated *at that moment in time* based off what on your credit report - so really, they are a snapshot of your credit reporting at the time you look at it. And since various lenders report at various times during the month, your credit score can, and does, change from day to day.

The best bet is to periodically check your FICO scores and watch them (hopefully) going up!

I love true credit. Have used it almost daily since my BK in 06...... I like it because if you check your scores often and you see a drop in one, you can investigage your report to see why.

Even thought the scores are not the same as your real scores, you can at least see a trend...

My scores are no where near the same.
                          TC - 677/555/669
                          MyFico - 535/591/530

Pretty crazy discrepancy. If I wasn't using TrueCredit to clean my report I would cancel.

I'm using truecredit as well. Ain't no way I'm paying myfico. The scores may be more accurate but I could care less at this point. It just isn't worth the money to see the scores. With truecredit I can review data, dispute mistakes, and keep an eye on it as I'm rebuilding credit. If the numbers are improving on truecredit they're probably improving on myfico as well. That's all I really care about.

Unless someone is planning on making a big dollar purchase then paying to know the real FICO score is tossing money down the toilet. People seem to be hung up on all this FAKO vs FICO crap and should be more concerned with making sure the TL's and data is cleaned up and accurate.

The numbers will take care of themself if the data in the reports is taken care of. Cleanup is what we can control, not how the numbers are computed. So, don't worry so much about the numbers and concentrate on cleaup and accuracy. The cheapest way to clean up the reports is the way to go.
