Bank of America wants income documentation for CC?

I applied for a Bank of America CC with good terms (no foreign fee & cash back), so I was not approved immediately, but got sent a letter wanting ID docs but also wanting a paycheck stub or tax form. I had never heard of a CC asking for this, but perhaps this is the new wave?

I recently had PenFed ask me for my picture ID as well. I have been a member for years, but somehow they don't know who I am? I just chalk it up to some new identity confirmation.

I've heard through the grapevine Discover is doing the same thing these days, including asking long time card holders for documentation and proof of income.

Identity confirmation is becoming a big thing in a lot of industries really right now. This is happening for both new and established customers..a lot of it is a random flag generated by a computer.
