I applied for a Bank of America CC with good terms (no foreign fee & cash back), so I was not approved immediately, but got sent a letter wanting ID docs but also wanting a paycheck stub or tax form. I had never heard of a CC asking for this, but perhaps this is the new wave?

I recently had PenFed ask me for my picture ID as well. I have been a member for years, but somehow they don't know who I am? I just chalk it up to some new identity confirmation.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
