    Credit union CC

Today I learned that I can get a secured CC from my credit union.

It is secured by the money in your own savings. No fees or charges at all.

Look into the credit unions in your area

Our credit union secure card sounded good till read "We will begin charging interest on purchases on the transaction date." Be sure to read all the terms and conditions.
We applied with Capital One last week and were approved for a credit card with 2k limit. No fees, interest is high 24% but don't plan on carrying a balance anyway.
Filed ch 13 03/2012. Final payment made 03/2015. Discharged 8/04/15!!!

      How long since your 341?

I am thinking that since my 341 was only a couple weeks ago, I probably can't do better anyway.

Plus..my plan is to just buy a couple tanks of gas per month and nothing else....pay it in full each month.
Just to start something rebuilding credit.

It looks like everyone wants me to pay a fee and put money into the card upfront. This I cannot do.
Credit union is no fee...and it just some small ($100) amount in savings

I did the secured credit card from a credit union thing before. It works. After a year or so, I can't remember exactly, they released my funds and gave me a credit increase. I still have the card, and it has a 10K limit.

I think building a relationship with a CU is an excellent idea.
Chapter 7, above median, no asset. Discharged with no UST involvement.
