I have posted before but wanted to give an update. Our house was not reaffirmed, but was discharged in bk7 in Feb. 2006. We stayed and payed until last year when we stopped paying. We tried to get a mod due to some very temporary financial circumstances, but ended up with the house going into foreclosure. We decided we wanted to pursue the possibility of buying another house. We have gone through quite a bit in the last month and a half, but finally found a lender and an investor without any complicated overlay guidelines, and we verified with USDA that our situation would not be a problem. After submitting docs today, GUS gave us a preapproval for a USDA guaranteed loan. Now, we have to find a house and finish the process. I know we are not out of the woods yet, but hope is still alive that we will soon be!!!
