So we are rebuilding our credit slowly, have one credit card and a couple car loans. When we filed bankruptcy in June 2008, discharged in Dec 2008, we had the mortgage we are currently paying on. We never missed a payment, but we never reaffirmed it either (not sure if I regret that or not, now).
Last month we were attempting to refinance one of our car loans (which we did successfully) - but one of the loan offices we talked to said they didn't see a mortgage on our credit reports.... So here's where my question comes in --- If it's not on our credit report anymore, can we still refinance it? Will the mortgage people be able to see it and work with our current lender? I'm a bit worried now, and confused as to how this works.
Also - is there any point in even attempting to refinance at this point? Or should we wait a couple more years?
Thanks!
