Website (fedmod.com) came up for me, but I haven't used it.

We plan on contacting our lender to do a Help for Homeowners refi. We have 2 lenders, Aurora (a division of Lehman Brothers..EEK) and Countrywide.

Our arm (with Countrywide) already kicked in. We had a 2 month teaser rate, which we were unaware of at the time we did our mortgage.

On Countrywide's website, it looks like they'll have some help in place starting on Dec. 1, so that's what we're waiting for. Countrywide is even willing to reduce principal balances, which would be a big help for us. We currently owe $260K and a home 2 houses down is selling for $207K.

Do I think they'll reduce it down to $207K? I doubt it, but it's worth a shot. There's no way I'd be able to sell my house for $260K, so anything lower is a plus for us.

well i am sure my old credit union wont help me at all since i put a car and credit card from them in my 13 plan. Just looking for some modification help or a lender willing to Refi with little/no down and low equity.
