Thanks for info. I have 206,000 miles on it. The dealer told me I need to change the engine mounts too. 1500 more. I also drive 25000 miles a year @ 18 mpg. Spend 600+ on gas monthly. So I was thinking a hybrid. New payment and gas will be about the same.
Or a used hybrid a few years old will even be better.

To be honest, I wish I had my old car back. Lower mpg but it was almost paid off. It was very reliable, though, and it sounds like yours is a different story.Chapter 7, above median, no asset. Discharged with no UST involvement.

How do you like your Prius? I am not planning on getting another car anytime soon (90,000/miles, car is paid off) but I was thinking that when I do I wanted to get a Prius. I was talking about it with a few people at work and they said the Prius performed poorly in some safety ratings.
Plus, when it comes to aesthetics of a car I am a steering wheel, gear shift girl, lol. I love the look of the Toyota steering wheel, and I am pretty sure I will like the feel, but good God, that gear shift.... Still, the gas mileage may outweigh the cons.Filed No Asset Chp 7 BK: January 2010
Discharged: August 2010
A life lesson well learned.

2.74 through Community America Credit Union. That was about a year after discharge. Avoid going through the dealership, they started me out at 6% and got me down a little more when I complained, but it was still too much considering my last 2 cars had been at 0%. I ended up refinancing within 60 days of buying the car. I had previously opened a savings account at Community America so I guess that helped. If you don't already have a savings or checking account with a credit union it might be worthwhile to look into.
FYI - when I filed I had a Toyota that I reaffirmed. About 10 months later I found myself trading it off and went back to the same dealership I had bought from. They didn't even run my credit and just had me fill out the credit app as a formality. I had 0% financing when I filed and got it again. Don't know if this was a Toyota thing or a dealership thing, but sometimes it pays to check out a dealership you've worked with in the past. I'm not sure if Toyota still has the 0% financing offers they had in the past, but it's a good deal and it came with a free 2 year maintenance package.
