update! ok so i was approved surprisingly

ok so i had posted that i went to the honda dealership and got an accord i wanted badly and they let me take the car etc etc..well anyhow the loan was approved thru capital one auto...funny thing is..i put them on my bk for a car i had that was going downhill..didnt EVER think they would do business with me again! i still cant believe it..but anyway it all worked out. 1,000 down and pmts 20.00 more than my old car. becuz of the recent bk my int rate is not so hot tho and i want to refinance. my question is does anybody have any advice on how long to wait to refi? when the loan hit my credit report my score jumped up about 10 pts too what im planning to do, and i havent made my first pmt yet..its due next week but i want to throw about 50.00 extra toward the principle..how long do u think i should wait to try and refi? 6 months? or longer? thanks guys for any help!!!!

First, more info please. I'll assume you filed already. Have you been discharged? If not, you needed permission to renew more debt by the car loan. Next, if discharged or even filed, this debt cannot be walked away from so you are far more credit worthy than a person who has not filed bk. Reason is, you can't bk for 8 more years and are stuck for the debt. Yes, unfortunately your rate is going to be higher than normal.

To answer the main question, since you already have a loan, no problem to find a better rate and transfer that loan to another more favorable rate. However, it also depends on my questions of have you been discharged yet? 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.
