In my case, the score didn't change due the fact that I was discharged. My score increased when the accounts reported the $0 balance. Honestly, I don't think the FICO-system can tell a discharged BK apart from a still open one.

IBROKE, thanks for telling me to check my FICO scores. I pulled mine only and my wife will do hers after the case is discharged. TransUnion is 593 and 611 for Equifax.

          You're welcome!

As you can see, they are quite different from those you mentioned before.

I'm also looking into applying for CapOne Auto Fin. I was CH7 discharged in Oct 10', and I have 2 credit cards with them. My fiancee says that she will cosign on my loan, so that I can have a lower interest rate. Her credit is really good.

My question is will her cosigning on my loan help my chances of getting approved?

As far as I know, all the lenders use FICO. FAKO is pretty much a consumer-only approximation.

I found Capital one checked all three of my credit reports. They most definitely use fico, as it's no printed on your blank check booklet.

Keep in mind though, FICO is just one factor, as they also use their own proprietary scoring model and financial criteria.

Technically when you apply for an auto loan they aren't using your FICO score... they are using an Auto score. There are LOTS of scoring models and some places use there own. There is also a new FICO scoring model coming out soon that Experian is going to start using soon I believe... but we actually have like 5 different types of FICOs.

There's a credit score, mortgage score, auto score and an insurance score... that I know of.

There's also Vantage, a FICO competitor. It's really confusing to consumers, which may be their intention. Otherwise, wouldn't you think they'd all agree on one score and stick with it?

Yea Experian's scores are 'PLUS' scores. They are like Fico + 50 at least by the looks at my scores.
