I realize I am getting ahead of myself; I have filed Ch 7 & my 341 is tomorrow.
Spouse in unemployed, I have KNOCK ON WOOD, stable employment.
We have 2 cars; 1 we have a lien on (and will continue to pay; it's our 'good' car) and a 1999 Jetta w/over 200K. SO, pre-lay off the plan was to replace the Jetta with a late model used...but obv that never happened. Pre-filing (after checking in w/my atty)- I tried to get a loan- road loan, capital one, etc all denied AND my credit should've been relatively fine - since no cc's were reported yet, just high DTI.
Anyhow, here's the catch w/these companies- you can only have 1 car loan so it wouldn't work b/c my unemployed spouse obv can't get the loan on his own (plus we're both on the loan, community property state, etc).
is there any hope to get financed soon-ish after discharge although I have a loan? It's a through a CU, maybe I could try them?
has anyone else experienced this????
thanks!
