I was discharged a couple months ago, but my case is not closed yet. My car was repoed after discharge. I was thinking about buying a car from a government auction the end of this coming month (May). I think I'll have enough cash, but if I'm a little short, is it ok for me to take a small car loan ($1,000 to $2,000) before my ch 7 is closed?

You can take a loan out after you receive discharge but before closure with Chap 7. Good luck finding a lender. They are out there, you just have to do some leg work to find them. If you have a fairly decent credit score and are putting the majority down as cash, you shouldn't have too many problems with a bk friendly bank/credit union.
