    Private Party Purchase

I will be discharged soon, and want to purchase a truck from my brother-in-law. The truck has a KBB of 28K, and he will sell it to me for 18K.
I have not told family about the BK, so seller financing is not a option.

Any ideas as to who does private party financing? I know the truck will easily value out at the 28K, so I would automatically have 10K equity in it.

    Suggestions?

IDK. Do you have a good relationship with your bank? If so I'd ask them and see. If the truck really is worth 10K more than your giving for it then your bank may do it.

I can't do it at my bank, I happen to work there and they do not know about the BK (didn't owe them anything). It is my hopes they do not find out about it.

I thought perhaps a credit union once this BK is discharged. Are there some more BK friendly than others?? If anyone has a suggestion, please feel free to PM me a suggestion. I could open a account with them now, and then attempt the loan once the discharge comes through.

I really want to get this truck, and could afford it now that I have no CC debt. I don't really even care about the high interest rate, as I could refinance it or pay it off down the road a bit.

I am wondering the same thing. My mother has a 2005 Nissan Altima that I'm going to buy from her and I'm going to be looking for financing in the next month or two.
