    Auto Loan Denials

I was discharged on 6/27/2009 and I am trying to obtain a car loan and the 2 companies I have tried all come back with the same denial reasons:

Serious delinquency, and derogatory public record or collection filed
    Number of accounts with delinquency
Time since delinquency is too recent or unknown
Length of time since derogatory public record or collection is too short

What I dont understand is that I read other people who got there discharge after mine and they are getting auto loans. Do I need to contact the credit bureaus or are these denial reasons still valid after bankruptcy? Thanks

Denials for credit can happen for several different reasons. It could be that you had several "late"s on your credit before you filed. It could be related to the credit scores, which would be based on your history. Many things can affect this.

I suggest getting copies of your credit reports and verifying things on there are accurately being reported. If they are not, you can dispute these with the credit reporting agency. If they are reported correctly, perhaps start small with your credit rebuilding. Maybe a secured card that reports to all 3 agencies would be a place to start.
