    Got approved with Capital One...

Capital One just approved me for up to $26,400, 60 months @ 9.95%.

Not bad for having been discharged in 4/09.

I'm not going to use it. Just wanted to share that it was possible.

Wow! I wonder if they will approve me? They were part of my matrix. See page 1 and click on it.

I would jump for joy if I could get a rate that low. That's even lower than what I was paying before my bankruptcy! WOW!!!

      WAY TO GO!!

Yeah, that's the only thing that really bothers me...keeping reliable transportation......

Good for you! That's great financing. I BK'd about $8500 from Cap 1 though so I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think I must have done about $3-4k with Capital One from a couple credit cards I had back around 1998 to 2003.

I've read stories on here long ago where a person went BK on a credit card only to have that company offer them another credit card after their BK was discharged. What's up with that?

I dunno debtmonster. I'm hardpressed to think of a bank I didn't BK on, especially with all the recent takeovers. I guess they have to keep lending money someplace and this is just a cost of business.

Hopefully their thinking is, "You just filed BK and can't do it again. You should have learned your lesson" and then they give you more credit from the same lender.

If they are still giving out credit, maybe they are so large that they are simply not checking all of their databases for previous bad credit or something.

That is funny, I just got a credit card from them last week. I decided to apply because I need one for travel unless I want them to put holds on my funds when using my ATM. I checked my FICO and it was 633 and rolled the dice to try

But did you include them in a previous bankruptcy? That's my concern. If you did and you get approved, that is awesome!

No I didn't include them in BK. A part of me wants to try to apply to one I BK'd. However, it's not worth my satisfying my curiosity if I get denied. I used to have one of their cards years ago but "I" closed it down because I hated them and all their little fees. I hope they are better now.

I think in 10 years everything will be perfect. When I called VW Motor Credit to verify an old repo from 1993, they no long had any record whatsoever of the transaction. In 2005 I applied to get a car with them and was approved for 4.9%!

                        Well, I'm jealous!

I can't get a car loan if my life depended on it. I have been rejected 4 times now.
I surrendered my car in order to get my fresh start. Now what do I do? Hitchhike?

CapitalOne rejected us - but we did bk on them for about $5k.

Took 115 days after 341 - But Finally DISCHARGED 3/25/09

How much were you using as a down payment on all of those rejections? Were you doing a $500 or $1000 deposit or something like a $3,000 to $8,000 deposit?

$4000 down and rejected........guess I will just keep saving. We are almost 6 months post discharge and thought somebody would finance a car for us.

But I will count my blessings because I did manage to settle my $125k HELOC for $15k and got a loan mod. on my 1st at 2% interest. Our home is OURS again!
