My Chapter 7 is scheduled to be discharged in about 2 weeks.In about 6 months I would like to purchase the vehicle I'm driving from my parents.My parents financed my vehicle for me and I currently pay the auto loan every month but the payment sucks ($579 per month)I wanted to attempt financing the vehicle myself so that I could acheive a better payment.Is anyone aware of any banks that provides financing for private party purchases.

Good luck with it Nicole. We recently tried our local CU. Got approved, have a somewhat decent rate, then they let us know that they go by the NADA book for vehicle valuations. We basically would have needed $5K cash to put down on the used minivan we were looking at. We have the money, but it wasn't worth it. We'll just drive what we have for another year and pay cash for it next year when we get our tax returns.Filed Ch 7: 12/27/07
