    Needing Advice

I talked to my credit union about a car loan and they said the best they can do is 17%. I do have a chapter 7 on my credit that as cleared as of december of 2005. I have a secured credit card thru them as well at 12% w/no extra fees that i pay off every month. The credit union uses trans union for credit scores and i was at 525.

I was hoping to get a car this year, but w/that interest it is a no go. Should i get another credit card to help raise my score?

    Any help will be greatful.

Try a few other places for the loan. Lending Tree, and Roadloans have been good to some people here.
See who gives you the best terms. Then once you find the car you like tell the dealership that you already have financing in place but to go ahead and try to get you a loan with better terms through their finance department.
I think you can do better than 17%

I agree with Jolly, do some checking around. Roadloans, Lending Tree, Capital One blank check. Check them all. Also, being almost at the 2 year mark after your bk, you should have a little better scores than 525. Have you checked your CR's to make sure of any mistakes that need correcting? You might need to do a little cleaning up on those. But either way check into those other places, you should be getting offers of a little better interest at this point.
