I applied four days after discharge and was approved. The rate isn't great and I'm not sure I will actually finance a car right now, but I was pretty happy about getting approved.Chapter 7 filed 4/23/07

Capital One approved me for a better rate- 13.5. And if you surrender your car in BK it looks much better on your credit than if they come to take it in the middle of the night.
So it may not be so bad! This is the time of year when Ford has excellent deals, too, and they are very BK friendly.

Capital One approved me for 12.5%, I didn't take it since I'm paying 9.9% with Hyundai Motor Finance (this was a month before I filed). I just wanted to see what they had to offer and if I would actually get an offer.
