Ive been very patient and cant wait anymore, I need a car discharge in 3 days unsure:

I filed bankruptcy in April 2007 Pro Se and have been very patient waiting for my disccharge. So far so good now I only have about 2 3 days left and there are no objections and every thing went smoothly. My car broke down beyond repair in June and now I NEED a car BADDDD.

I plan on buying the first week of August or later if needed. I have no idea what to expect and how to go about things and Im hoping someone can give me some good ideas. Im hearing that some companies will only let you lease after bankruptcy, Its easier to finance a new car than a used with bankruptcy, and some companies are more bankruptcy friendly than others. I made a top ten list of cars im interested in and If one of these companies offers for example "$3000 Cash Rebate" I can use that for my down payment to increase my chances right?

Basically I need a car ASAP and am scared of getting ripped off because of my BK any advice is appreciated. Thanks

    3 days?
Why don't you just rent a car until you get your discharge?
Might be worth the savings between before & after?

If 3 days is your last date for Objections,........... That doesn't mean your Discharge will be issued the same day.

Our Court has a waiting period. Last Date for Objections passes, then Discharge doesn't come for another week or so. Depending on the Local Rules of your Court, you could get Discharge the next day, or you could wait a while.

Sounds like you have a good deal lined up. But trust me. Another good deal is always waiting right around the corner. You may have to wait a bit, but another good deal will come along.

LOL, it is probably wishful thinking to think you will get those rebates. Or for that matter, that you can even finance a "new" care without putting your own cash on the table.

You won't likely be able to get financed by a 1st tier dealership (i.e. car dealerships with a car manufacturer's name in the title) without your own down payment (even for a used car).

You have filed BK, the credit and purchase power available to you is significantly diminished.

go to a large volume ford dealership and ask for the special financing department. it doesn't matter if you are discharged yet or not. you will have to choose a new car that has a large rebate! good luck!
