    Hi cindylynnsmith and catchmeifyoucan,

I did get a call from cccu and was told it was just too early after my bk in order for me to get a cc or cl I was told I should try back in about 6 months or longer. I thought it was very nice for them to call me and explain that other than it being too soon I shouldn't have a problem once more time have elapsed. Congrats to you both!!!! I know how exciting it is to get a lower interest rate than with Cap1. I'm happy for you both and continue to learn from this forum even though my bk is discharged and closed. It's only been a little over a month so I'm still working hard at keeping my cr clear and my first car payment won't be until Oct 23 so I think once I start those payments on time and a little extra each time I'll see a difference in my scores. As for my friend with the checks in OK, she called the casino's a made arrangements to pay the checks. All is well since she's dealing with their collection dept. She now stays far away from the casinos....at least for now. Thanks for all the information and good luck catchmeifyoucan on your refi as well!!

That's good to hear Sara....6 months will FLY BY!!!! I still haven't heard back on the credit line, but I am being patient. Patience paid off with the car loan. I would love to have one large credit line and close the rest and be done. If I get the credit card then I'd love to move my checking and savings here and call it a day! Did you see where you can even make online deposits, get immediate credit for the deposits then mail in the checks. How cool is that? I'd really love to get all my stuff in one place. I know people say its not good to get all your eggs in one basket but I'm so tired of chasing all my eggs around....lol...I feel like I'm chasing chickens...... I hope we hear back from catchme soon. We so funny. This is like a regular ole soap opera.....keepin up on each other's car refis....lol...what exciting lives we lead. I'm sorry about your friend. That sucks. Hopefully she can get some help for her gambling.

in order to get one of their credit card or refin, you have to join them and be a member by opening an account with them??

nope, you can apply as a non-member and then even if you are approved all you have to do is pay 5.00 to become a member. You don't have to open any accounts at all

the process time is about a month? I apply yesterday so we shall see how long it will take. I haven't received an email or a call yet but its still early in the stage.

do you know of any requirement on the car loan? do you have to buy it directly from the dealership? stuff like that.

the process was only long for me cause I had to clear up chex systems. you can buy from dealership, or private ind.

yeah I dont' have anything in the chex system so hopefully it get process soon. Do I call in and find out my status? Should I wait a week before calling? I would like to go car shopping ASAP. I know when I apply at capital one, it was quick and i got the check in like 2-3 days.

Should I apply for their Credit card as well. Like other have say, I wouldn't mind putting all my balance on one card so it makes life easier. How long does it take for them to approve credit card??

well seeing that they are taking this long, I went ahead and apply for Capital One Auto again and got a rate of 8.5 percent. I was wondering if I use capital one auto finance and then when Christian Community approve my loan, I can do a refin with them and have it reduce down to 6.75 at that time (which is in a month hopefully?) What do you guys think? Going from 6.75 to 8.5 which is 25 dollar extra a month but if you times that by 72 its 1800 extra. Well what do you guys think....thanks.

If you are looking for 72 then go with Cap One. Christian Community, to my knowledge does not do 72 months....look on their site and see, but i don't think they do. But yes they will refi at any time. They consider a refi the same as a new car. 8.5 is pretty good!! Congrats!

FWIW, I just purchased a new truck with a Cap One loan with a rate of 9.45%. I was very happy to get that rate as is!!! However, I'm in process of trying to refinance it with CCCU and here is the difference. If I get 6.75% I will pay $39 more per month but I will save $4,400 over the length of the loan AND pay it off 1 year early. It's worth it to me for sure.

i guess thats what I will do then cause capital one is fast with sending out stuff and being approved and what not. I just don't want to wait a month for CCCU application to go through but will do that after i get the car so that way I can refin with them and have time to do so. Thanks everyone

I did apply for their 72 month term though in CCCU. They do have that option.

i went with capital one. I got an email from CCCU and they requested that I send them my last 2 paycheck. I will wait 6 months before going back to CCCU and reappling for a refianance. I just picked up a car over the weekend so its too soon to refin? I am getting 8.75 which isn't too bad.

I know some of you have had a good experience with CCCU, but I have to tell you that my experience with them was horrible. It was one of my most degrading conversations I ever had. The lady taking my information treated me like crap for filing BK, told me that I would have a hard time getting a mortgage, people in my income bracket don't file BK, etc.

So you all know, my mid point score is 670, I have 3 credit cards with low balances, just mortgaged a home at $275K,and been discharged 25 months.
