Cap One Debt Discharged, Approved for Blank Check?

Does anyone know if you can still get a Blank Check to buy a car from Capital One even if you've had a Capital One debt discharged or a past late payment on another Cap. One CC? I can't find any info about that on their website.

Hmmm, all you can do is try? Although I've never heard of a lender lending more money to the same person that defaulted the first time with them, unless you were to wait a year or two later?

    Best of Luck, CMIYC

There is little harm in trying. Realize, these are huge companies and the left hand will often not know what the right hand is doing. Most of the larger banks don't care if a debt was discharged against them or not, they just want to see if you meet their criteria so that they can make a little money off you.

My husband has worked for JPMorgan Chase (hired at former Bank One) for 10 years and he definitely agrees with this statement. Hopefully this will work in our favor. I guess there's always RoadLoans. This is what LendingTree has to say about them:

"Recognized as one of only two lenders, out of hundreds on the Lendingtree.com platform to earn the prestigious Lendingtree.com Outstanding Customer Service Award for two consecutive years. RoadLoans is serious about customer service and works hard to take it to the next level."

Additionally, we are hoping his long job history and great salary will help us to qualify with somebody! Right now we are awaiting discharge after 3 yrs of Chapter 13. We paid off 2 years early with our tax refund. Credit reports and scores are actually not looking too bad. Exp--665, Eq--613.

Thanks for these posts, folks. I am currently banking with Capital One. I was thinking about going to ask them for a secured card when I am discharged. (Will pay off early.) Alot of these posts regarding Capital One are very encouraging.
