Has anyone heard of this? After my bk in 2009, my mortgage company said: "We are not going to foreclose and we have no interest in the home. If you want to live there, live there". After talking with my attorney, he said to live there. So, I'm still living in the home without paying the mortgage but still paying the taxes so the county won't kick me out. How long can I stay in the home before some type of legality forces me out? I'd like to make a lowball offer to the mortgage company for the home thinking they would take just about anything to be out from under the liability. Any help would be appreciated!
